Kalen's Fine Arts traces its history back to 1886 when the picture framing establishment was founded at 158 S Broad Street in Trenton, NJ. From 1914 onward, it became the picture framer and later gallery of choice for discriminating art lovers, homeowners, decorators and interior designers in Central New Jersey , Southeastern Pensylvania and Art collectors worldwide. From its beginning location it branches out to Princeton, New Jersey, and Morrisville, PA. Besides being the preeminent framer in the area, Kalen's represented many local and international artists; Notably Regis Bouvier de Cachard, Donald Hornberger, Elizabeth Ruggles, and carried authentic works by Picasso, Miro, Kleé, Calder, and Chagall, to name a few.
Today the Business carries on in the hands of the 3rd Generation on the Kalen family by Syd Saperstein the grandson of the founders, and the son of the 2nd generation of owners Sol and Estelle Saperstein. Syd operates it under his web presence, on pensburymanor.com. In its current configuration the activities include Sale of fine art Prints, Art Restoration, Historical reference and Authentication for the many Kalen's products sold over the past 140 years and accepting Consignment items offered for sale.
